You have tried everything. You are still in pain.

You saw specialists, had scans, and tried physiotherapy, painkillers, injections, and rest followed by more exercise.

Each step made sense. None of them held.

Standard care is built to find damage and fix it. When the scan is normal, or shows only minor changes, the search can stall at “nothing serious”.

That leaves people doubting their own pain, and wondering what they are missing.

There may be one more explanation.

What may be missing is not a better scan. It is a different explanation of where the pain comes from. Pain science has moved on in recent years, and treatments built on the new understanding are now being tested.

This guide walks through that explanation in four steps.

Inside the guide

  1. 1.

    Redefining pain

Why pain does not always mean damage, and how the brain produces it.

  2. 2.

    Diagnosing nociplastic pain

How it is identified: medical clearance first, then the pattern.

  3. 3.

    The fuels of nociplastic pain

Fear, avoidance, stress, and many more.

  4. 4.

    How PRT works in practice

A detailed explanation of the steps of Pain Reprocessing Therapy.

The guide is under review and its release is planned for March 2027.
